Thursday, Delgado Community College will host a free educational event for employers and contractors to help them understand and comply with their responsibilities and obligations. It will help area employers and contractors understand and comply with workplace laws and regulations administered by the Wage and Hour Division, and the Louisiana Workforce Commission’s Office of Unemployment Insurance will provide an overview of unemployment insurance basics. It will take place on the Delgado City Park campus in the Las Maurepas Room of the Student Life Center. An English language session will run from 1-4 p.m., followed by a Spanish language session from 5-8 p.m.
The event will be hosted by The Wage and Hour Division in New Orleans, the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Louisiana, the Mexican Consulate in New Orleans, Louisiana Workforce Commission, and Delgado Community College (DCC). For more information, contact William Sabik: sabik.william@dol.gov.
