One area of immigration that the incoming president didn't address in his executive orders was education. That's good because international students are good for the economy.
In November, NAFSA: Association of International Educators and JB International announced the results of a study that showed "1.1 million international students at U.S. colleges and universities contributed $43.8 billion to the U.S. economy during the 2023-2024 academic year and supported more than 378,000 jobs. The economic activity total is the highest amount ever calculated by NAFSA, eclipsing the high water mark of $41 billion in 2018-2019 academic year."
NAFSA also broke out the numbers for the states, both international students in them and students from them that have gone overseas.
